“Inventive home-made food, seasonal produce and a convenient city centre location.”
The List Eating and Drinking Guide
Located on the ground floor of the Scottish Storytelling Centre, the Storytelling Café strives to produce nutritious, exciting, and delicious cooking every day of the week. As well as fresh, wholesome soups, hearty filled rolls, and light, colourful salads, our cooks also use high quality, seasonal produce from local suppliers to create a variety of daily specials. These can be anything from rich stews, curries, and casseroles to vegetarian tarts and bakes. You will also find simple, healthy options for children on our menu.
If you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth then the cafe also boasts a selection of sumptuous chocolate treats, tempting fruit tarts and mouth–watering home baked cakes and muffins. As well as serving award-winning, gourmet coffee the Storytelling Cafe is fully licensed and has a wide array of hot and cold soft drinks. The cafe is a friendly and welcoming space for meeting friends, taking a break, and finding out about Scotland’s rich story heritage.
If you have booked a meeting, small conference or event in any of the spaces in the Storytelling Centre, we will happily provide on-site catering offering a large selection of sandwiches, hot and cold platters and buffets. Email Moira Hay about your catering needs, or call Moira on 0131 556 9579.
Since November 2009, the Storytelling Cafe has been managed and operated by Glenfinlas Ltd, a commercial catering company founded by Roy Campbell and Mhairi Mackenzie-Robinson in 1998. Glenfinlas has grown from running temporary cafés at various cultural venues and events, to become a coffee wholesaler, gourmet food retailer, and café operator.
