Storyboxes
There are nine themed boxes ranging in suitability from nursery to upper primary, including two new Storyboxes: Scottish Stories; Animal Fun; Spooky Stories; Sea and Shore; Magic and Mystery; Around the World; Early Years Storybox; Rhyme Time and First Stories (NEW); First Fairytales (NEW).
We strongly recommend that, if purchasing a Storybox, you book a CPD event for staff in how to use the storyboxes effectively. CPD can take place at any time of year in your own venue. Training is provided by one of our Storybox Champions who are all experienced professional storytellers. Spooky Stories
 This Storybox looks at the genre of the SPOOKY STORY. Included are a selection of tales from around the world that will make your hair stand on end: The Headless Cyclist; The Crying Lady; White Cap; The Golden Arm; Mind the Crooked Finger; The Blacksmith and the Troll; Maria the Tall. The toys, props and a wealth of suggested activities within this pack are designed to encourage children to create and retell their own spooky stories.
Suitable for middle to upper primary.

Magic and Mystery
 The Magic and Mystery Storybox has been designed for older children in order to explore, in depth, traditional fairy tales and fortune tales. There are also opportunities to discuss the concept of active e and passive protagonists. The stories included for retelling are Beauty and the Beast; Rapunzel; A Midwife’s Tale; The Golden Bird; The North Wind; The Twelve Months; The Blue Rose. The wealth of activities outlined in the Core Resource material helps to reinforce the storytelling concepts whilst the exciting range of toys and props enhance the enriching and empowering storytelling experience. For ages 8 to 11.

Scottish Stories
 Storyteller, author and former teacher Judy Paterson has adapted a range of traditional tales from around Scotland for retelling in the classroom. Through these tales, a variety of suggested activities and lots of related toys and props children are encouraged to explore the traditional motifs used in these stories. Children can then let their imaginations run riot, to create their very own traditional Scottish story. Suitable for middle and upper primary.

Around the World
 Stories from as far afield as Papua New Guinea and Japan form the basis of this wonderful storybox. Through the activities and games within the Core Resource Material children can explore the stories, looking at the motifs for storymaking. They have the opportunity to use their teacher as Storytelling role model. From these beginnings they can start the process of creating their own oral stories and are invited to think of ways to make them more scary, interesting, exciting etc. This storybox is suitable fro infant to middle primary.

 A selection of Pour Quoi stories and Trickster Tales involving animals are the basis for this fun storybox. The activity cards, story ribbons and playing cards provide opportunities for children to explore these genres and encourage them to crete their own animal stories orally for retelling to an audience. Suitable for Infant to middle primary.

Early Years
 The Early Years Storybox is ideal for children from age 3 to 6 years. It has been piloted in a cluster of nursery schools and undergone development with significant input from experienced nursery staff. Through familiar stories and traditional tales young children have access to a wide range of fund activities that are designed to increase listening and talking skills. The bright, attractive toys and pops with the pack are a perfect accompaniment to these activities and also encourage imaginative play.
